Stephen L Blank

Stephen has over 20 years’ corporate law and advisory experience as a private practice and in-house commercial lawyer.  He has been the Managing Director
of Counselcorp for the last 5 years; having been the General Counsel, Company Secretary and local director of an Australian listed pharmaceutical company
for the 6 years prior.

Stephen spent his first 8 years in private practice as a commercial lawyer
specialising in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets with 2 of Australia’s larger commercial law firms, and then 2 years as General Counsel of Australia’s largest independent petroleum company.  His 8 years in corporate roles was
spent in 2 large organisations leading the exponential growth of those companies
in Australia and across Asia.

Stephen has extensive local and international experience on transaction related projects including IPO’s, mergers and acquisitions, privatisations and debt and equity funding arrangements of all sizes.  Stephen brings a balanced commercial perspective on any matter for his clients derived from his work both in private practice and as an integral in-house advisor to public boards and private businesses.

Stephen founded Counselcorp with a clear objective to provide effective legal counsel to companies and individuals who quickly recognise Counselcorp as a valued member of its advisory team.

Stephen has a Masters of Law, a Graduate Diploma of Company Secretarial Practice, and a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics.  He has worked with clients and in-house in many varied industries specialising in healthcare, energy and petroleum, telecommunications and IT, and Government.

He is an Associate of Governance Institute of Australia, and a member of The National Golf Club. Stephen enjoys time with his 3 kids, camping and playing competitive golf and tennis.
